For fourteen years, L.A. Works has encouraged corporate citizenship by building a bridge between our corporate partners and the communities of our city. Our BusinessWorks program is now L.A.’s leader in corporate community service and volunteering, setting a new trend in corporate philanthropy that is focused on action, innovation and impact.
Our corporate partners:
- Share our vision to transform communities through service and civic engagement;
- Value the power and potential of hands-on, high-impact volunteerism;
- Understand how to maximize the impact of their charitable giving;
- Recognize that employee service opportunities promote team-building, boost morale, and cultivate leadership;
- Understand the value of corporate citizenship as a strategy for recruitment and retention

BusinessWorks
BusinessWorks is a fee-for-service program for large and small companies that wish to contribute to strengthening their communities by engaging employee teams in hands-on-service projects. These projects create team-building opportunities and reinforce the importance of corporate citizenship. It is also a proven way to maximize the strategic community impact of a corporation's charitable dollars by adding volunteer labor to in-kind goods & resources.
Our staff custom design a Day of Community Service that fits the needs of our corporate partners, from serving the homeless, painting murals, planting a community garden and reading to inner-city children to large-scale makeovers of entire schools or community centers. We provide every aspect of project development and management, from leadership training and expert supervision to catering and chartering buses. These projects can range in scale from 100 to 1000 volunteers, and start from $5,000.
