Volunteering with L.A. Works
L.A. Works offers a variety of ways for volunteers to get involved, whether for just a couple of hours, or as an ongoing commitment to service.
One Time, Volunteer Opportunities
If you only have a few hours, consider signing up for a one-time short-term Project on our calendar. Most of these take place on evenings or weekends and only require a few hours. If you become interested, you can choose to volunteer at the same project several times a month, or for a variety of these one-time projects. The majority of these projects are managed by L.A. Works for our non-profit partners, and led by trained, volunteer Project Leaders. Just log in or create a new account, and then click the "SIGN ME UP" button. You'll receive confirmation and further information immediately via email.
Ongoing Referrals
L.A. Works also lists ongoing referrals for partner agencies needing volunteers on a long-term or ongoing basis. These opportunities generally have a "HAVE AGENCY CONTACT ME" button and can be found by browsing all our projects or by clicking the Show Me Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities link at the bottom of the calendar page. Partner agencies should respond to your inquiry with 72 hours with more information.
Long-Term Projects
L.A. Works also manages long-term projects such as "Let's Read" and "TeamWorks" that provides a richer, more cohesive volunteer experience for you and the agencies we work with.

Accessibility for All
L.A. Works welcomes volunteers of all ages and all levels of ability! We partner with the Tarjan Center at UCLA on a national inclusion initiative called LINCs. We firmly believe that we can strengthen the social fabric of our community by involving ALL in service… especially by including people with disabilities. We will provide reasonable accommodations whenever possible with advance notice. For more information about LINCS, or to discuss how we can make it easier for you to volunteer, please contact us at 323-224-6510 or by e-mailing info@laworks.com
