Description:
The Literacy Network for Greater Los Angeles is a not-for-profit organization whose vision is to improve the quality of life in Southern California communities through literacy. We work to raise the level of literacy in Greater Los Angeles by providing trained volunteers to various literacy service organizations, acting as the convenor for literacy organizations to share best practices and network, put on an annual award event that honors key media figures who have elevated literacy issues for public discussion, provide a comprehensive resource and referral program, and finally a workplace literacy project for companies that trains instructors to go into the workplace to improve the work skills of its employees
