Below you should notice a few non profits that could use your help. Please note the RSVP opportunities are exlusive to our age 55 and above volunteers the rest are for all ages. RSVP: Holiday Carnival
- Each year, through free games, activities, information, entertainment, raffle prizes, and even photo ops with Santa, our annual Holiday Carnival aims to amplify the Christmas cheer in the low income communities of Los Angeles. With free admission for all and free gifts for children ages 0-10, our Holiday Carnival attracts 2,500+ community members each year who can use a touch more of the holiday spirit! RVSP: Tiny House For Holiday Parade - We are doing a rework of a project initially installed at the Skirball Center for the last month of the year. We’re framing out a child-sized house and will culminate in its inclusion in a local holiday parade on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Volunteers are needed to help in all stages of building, painting, decorating and more! Click Here to Volunteer


RSVP: Children's Holiday Gift Giveaway - The Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club hosts an annual holiday gift give away for children and their families. This free event includes dinner and the distribution of holiday gifts to about 700 children and families near their Lincoln Heights center. Click Here to Volunteer

GENERAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 
 

Toy Giveaway - CCHC has partnered with the LAPD Foothill Division to make provide event participants with free toys, face painting, bicycle raffles and much more!  Volunteers will assist with event activities such as: giving out toys to the children, directing families to designated areas, assisting with refreshments, assisting with setup and clean up, assisting with decorations, and other day of activities. 24th Annual Veterans' Holiday Celebration - Volunteers can help with pre-event venue set up and Veteran care package assembly.  On the event day, 12/4, volunteers are needed for food preparation and serving, parking assistance, helping veterans navigate the food buffet, bus tables, provide security for celebrities and the venue, give out care packages, registration, and to be part of a cadets and volunteers team which will visit Veterans in the hospital.

As the event winds down, volunteer will be needed for cleanup and to prepared unused food for pickup for the homeless. Click Here to Volunteer

 

Annual Clothing Giveaway - The Annual Clothing Giveaway provides over 75,000 pieces of clothing, stuffed animals and books to 3,000 in-need and at-risk individuals in our community. volunteers will help to sort and prepare clothing for the Giveaway and day of volunteers will staff the Giveaway tables and assist attendees in selecting goods to take home with them. Fall 5K Celebration - Whether you help greet the girls with a smile as they park, jazz up the girls' style with face painting, hand out water to the runners, or clean up after the race...just imagine the positive impact you will have as you spend your morning rooting for hundreds of LA County girls who’ve trained for month in anticipation of this day! LEND A HAND: Wheels for Deals with Seniors - The elderly clients at Alexandria Care Center don't always have the chance to get out of their rooms very much. To boost their spirits and get some fresh air, they're offered a weekend excursion to the neighborhood 99 Cent Store! Shopping for great deals is one of their monthly highlights! Come provide a much needed shopping trip along with great companionship, lively talk and needed sunshine. Click Here to Volunteer

 

Yuletide Caroling With Our Elderly "Family Members” - Volunteers will bring holiday cheer and raise the spirits of our Elderly “Family Members” by singing seasonal songs and yuletide carols, shaking sleigh bells interacting with senior citizens. BEAUTY AND CHARM: Lifting Women's Spirits - The residents of Women’s Village are in various stages of the journey to overcome homelessness and other challenges. Once a month, L.A. Works volunteers come to Women's Village to support their bravery with a little pampering and companionship by providing basic manicures, hand scrubs, mud masks and hand massages. Volunteers don't have to be experts at giving manicures. This experience is more about bonding with the women and giving them an opportunity to connect with others. Click Here to Volunteer

 

Christmas Toy Give-Away - Help set up toys on display, distribute toys to kids, hand out treats, act as crowd control, and assist with clean up during a Christmas toy give-away for Low Income Families in living Compton, Ca. Click Here to Volunteer

 

Food for the Soul - Help hand out lunches to the homeless community members of South L.A. and Downtown L.A. areas. Click Here to Volunteer
 

Provide supplies to the homeless and their animal companions - Assist the homeless and their animals, learn about the issues this community faces by setting up for the gathering, organizing stations, handing out clothing and resources, and assisting with event clean-up. Click Here to Volunteer
