Description:
Wildlife Waystation, located in Little Tujunga Canyon between the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley, houses hundreds of wild and exotic animals from around the world as well as native animals to teach the public more about wildlife. Program: The Animal Support program works to support the wellbeing of over 400 exotic animals. Volunteer Role & Responsibilities: Volunteers are needed to assist with educating the public through our Outreach and Special Events programs, coordinate fundraising activities, ranch maintenance and cleaning, pick up donated produce, run various recycling programs, and provide animal enrichment and animal handling. Due to safety and licensing requirements, new volunteers do not work directly with animals until they have passed specific criteria. Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years of age. A $25 donation is required to participate in our mandatory orientation. Time Commitment: Volunteers are required to serve a minimum of 8 hours per month. The Volunteer Orientation is usually held on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 3:00.
