Description:
Twice monthly, L.A. Works volunteers join KEEN L.A. to pair up with participating athletes and serve as a volunteer coach for a variety of non-competitive athletic activities. Activities, including soccer, gymnastics and track & field, are tailored to each athlete's needs and designed to promote the athlete's sense of accomplishment.
KEEN L.A. is a nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities. KEEN L.A.’s mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of its athletes through non-competitive activities.
Special Note: Volunteer coaches do not need any prior experience working with disabled individuals. Please dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor activities with kids.
Age Requirement: Volunteers for this project must be at least 14 years of age.
Minors: Any volunteer under the age of 18 will need to bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors.

* This project is managed by L.A. Works for our nonprofit partner and is led by a trained volunteer Project Leader. L.A. Works is a nonprofit, volunteer action center that creates and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
