Adventures w/ Apes @ Gibbon Center

Agency: Gibbon Conservation Center

Description: Once a month, L.A. Works volunteers come to the Gibbon Conservation Center to help maintain the grounds and ensure a safe and healthy environment for the gibbons. Volunteers clear brush and trim trees to guard against fire, assist with grounds maintenance and build and repair the wooden structures that house the gibbons. Volunteers are also provided with a 30-minute tour of the facility.

The Gibbon Conservation Center is a nonprofit center for the study, preservation, and conservation of the gibbon, a highly endangered species.

Special Note: This project involves stenous work outdoors. Consult the project leader if you have any questions or concerns about the nature of the work. Please bring plenty of water and sunblock.

Age Requirement
: Volunteers for this project must be at least 13 years of age.

Minors
: Any volunteer under the age of 18 will need to bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors.
