Franklin Canyon Park Conservation

Agency: Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority

Description: Once a month, L.A. Works volunteers come out to support MRCA staff in maintaining Franklin Canyon Park, a CA state park located in the Santa Monica Mountains. Volunteers take part in ongoing efforts to conserve and upgrade the park, including trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, slope re-grading, planting native plants and assisting with efforts to make the park more accessible to people with disabilities.


Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority is a local government public entity dedicated to the preservation and management of local open space and parkland, watershed lands, trails, and wildlife habitat.

Special Note
: Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Please bring water and sun protection.

In case of rain the day before or the day of the project, the project will likely be canceled. If this is the case you will be notified by email.

Age Requirement: Volunteers for this project must be at least 13 years of age.

Minors: Any volunteer under the age of 18 will need to bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors.

Minors will also need to bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a MRCA Volunteer Services Agreement for Minors in order to volunteer.
