Coaching Special-Needs Youth @ KEEN LA

Agency: KEEN LA

Description:

At each KEEN session, a participating athlete is paired up with a volunteer coach for a variety of non-competitive athletic activities tailored to each athlete's needs and designed to promote the Athlete's sense of accomplishment. These activities include soccer, track and field, basketball, bowling, gymnastic and various adaptive activities. Volunteer coaches don't need any prior experience working with disabled individuals. Please dress appropriately for the weather and playing with kids.

KEEN is a national, nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families and caregivers. KEEN's mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of its athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals.
