| MLK Jr. Day of Service 2009 |
Agency: Loren Miller Elementary School
Description:

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2009, L.A. Works is excited to join President-elect Barack Obama's call for all Americans to join in service to our community. One day before the official inauguration of America's first African-American president, we will celebrate the spirit and legacy of Dr. King with a special day of programming and service.
Please join us in this special day of service at Loren Miller Elementary School!
Through the combined effort of L.A. Works, the school community of Loren Miller Elementary School and the broader community of Angelenos, we will revitalize the school with murals and green spaces, energize the community, and inspire a new generation of leaders. Project activities will include murals, planting and landscaping.
Project begins at 10:00am. Registration opens at 9:00am. Breakfast, coffee, and lunch will be provided. Parking attendants will be on site.
Any volunteer under the age of 18 will also need to print out a minor release form for this project. The volunteer's parent or guardian must sign it. Click here to download our Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minor Child. Bring the completed form with you to the project.
