Description: Please Note: The Fall '10 session of this program will take place Saturday mornings from September 25th through December 11th. Tutors may begin after the program start date but must commit to at least three consecutive Saturday morning sessions.

Let's Read is a multi-week program designed to provide the youth of Nora Sterry Elementary School and the surrounding community with the tools to help them achieve their dreams. Working individually and as a group, volunteers work with youth to strengthen their reading and comprehension skills and to show them that reading can be fun. If your enthusiasm for kids is as great as your love of learning, then this program is for you.

Nora Sterry Elementary School is an LAUSD public school serving grades K-5. Let's Read is an L.A. Works-sponsored program designed to create long-term opportunities for volunteers and youth to connect and learn from each other.

Special Note: In order to participate, you must speak with the project leader, Aaron Perez, before signing up. Please email and provide your phone number and the best time to contact you.

Age Requirement: Volunteers for this project must be at least 18 years of age.

* This project is managed by L.A. Works for our nonprofit partner and is led by a trained volunteer Project Leader. L.A. Works is a nonprofit, volunteer action center that creates and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
