ANNUAL SIGNATURE DAYS OF SERVICE
Throughout the year L.A. Works celebrates the spirit of service by bringing together volunteers, nonprofit partners, and corporate volunteer teams in a Day of Service to the city of Los Angeles. Our two signature events are:
- L.A. Works Day takes place during the summer and is Los Angeles' longest-running annual day of community service. Volunteers from all parts of the city, civic organizations and leading companies join together to create murals, paint, plant and landscape to revitalize schools, parks, and community centers.
- MLK Jr. Day of Service is a powerful day of activism and reflection in January. Our volunteers mark this day with meaningful service, learning, and remembrance.
Additional large-scale projects in which L.A. Works mobilizes the community in support and honor of significant events and/or individuals include: Cesar Chavez Day (March), Earth Day (April), and 911 Day (September).
