L.A. Works unites Angelenos and inspires action for an equitable LA. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer action center, we create and manage hands-on community service projects to mobilize volunteers throughout the greater Los Angeles area. About the role:
As a member of the Communications team, the Marketing Coordinator will work to build the L.A. Works brand in order to increase volunteer engagement and strengthen community awareness of the organization to raise the profile of volunteerism in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of marketing functions, including advertising, branding, communications, digital, and social media.
Essential job functions:

Brand Strategy: Use research and feedback to spearhead the redevelopment and implementation of brand strategy.

Graphic Design and Marketing Materials: Maintain current inventory of promotional materials (flyers, step and repeats, tablecloths, etc.), and produce new promotional materials from start to completion as needed. Ability to translate marketing materials into Spanish.

Outreach and Promotion: Create, implement, and lead strategy for outreach and tabling efforts, including trade shows, events, conferences, street fairs, etc.

Awareness Building: Help L.A. Works build/improve awareness through email marketing, direct mail campaigns, advertising, SEO campaigns, etc.

KPI Tracking: Manage and keep record of all testimonials (nonprofits, corporate partners, volunteers), surveys, etc. and create strategy for utilizing information for L.A. Works promotion.

Analytics and Reporting: Prepare analytics/performance reports to track campaigns regularly and make adjustments as needed; drive strategy to increase engagement on L.A. Works website, social media accounts, and email marketing campaigns.

Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Strong graphic design, copywriting, communications, and editing skills.

Flexible with a strong desire to learn.

Has drive and energy, especially in this hybrid workplace!

Knowledgeable about all things marketing (traditional, social media, content, etc.).

Have a passion for volunteerism and/or knowledge of the nonprofit sector.

Excited about analytics and researching.

Working knowledge of digital fundraising technology, including email marketing systems, customer relationship management, and charitable giving platforms.

Comfortable speaking to media on-and off-camera as a (bilingual) L.A. Works representative.

Can work under tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects.

Have a strong eye for design and copy and the ability to give/get feedback.
Additional requirements:

Experience with (or can quickly adopt) Zoom, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and Salesforce.

Participate in an L.A. Works Taskforce (an organization-wide, collaborative team).

In-person support at L.A. Works’ large-scale signature events and other organization-wide commitments when necessary.

Initiate NSWOP and criminal history check prior to hire.

Any and all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Classification and salary: The Marketing Coordinator is a full-time non-exempt employee of L.A. Works, is employed at-will, and reports directly to the Director of Communications. As an employee of L.A. Works, the Marketing Coordinator is subject to the policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook. Targeted hiring salary range is $50,000 - $52,000.
Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity. L.A.
