Cuddle and Help Socialize Former Feral Cats for Adoption
Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats is a community resource and rescue center that provides services to help quell the feral cat overpopulation in the Los Angeles area. We are an animal rescue dedicated to socializing feral cats and adopting them out to good homes as well as working with the community to find a humane solution to the cat overpopulation problem. We do TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) and offer free spay/neutering of cats to our Community Partners.
Program Description: We are humanely controlling the overpopulation of cars on the street via spay/neutering. Young cats are taken in for socialization and then adopted out.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: Cats must have their litter changed, rooms cleaned, simple medications given, babies bottle fed and love and attention given to frightened felines. You'll be expected to help socialize them and turn them into lap cats. MANY opportunities exist within the organization to aid our mission.
Time Commitment: Shifts are 2 1/2 hours long, once weekly.
Requirements: We provide an orientation and training. Wearing older clothes is recommended. Please remember to fill out a minor volunteer waiver form if minors (under 18) are attending projects. The form can be found on L.A. Works website Q&A section.
Benefits: The benefits are emotional as well as physical. Simply being around purring cats is reputed to be good for one's health, and the satisfaction one derives in helping these creatures learn to trust humans and find forever homes is immeasurable.
