Quick Overview: Volunteers will tutor students in elementary school with homework and core courses to help them grasp learning concepts and to improve their confidence, grades and test scores. Also, when time permits, volunteers will incorporate fun fit-sports activities to address the nation's child obesity issue.
Mission or Broader Program Description: Joseph Learning Lab's educational outreach organization is a nonprofit 501(c)(3). We tutor and mentor underprivileged children, who are being left behind the learning curve. We are on a mission to close the learning gap, reduce the dropout rate, and develop students of all ages and diverse backgrounds by allowing them an equal opportunity for learning and personal growth.
Impact: Your efforts to Tutor and Mentor underprivileged children gives them one-on-one help with homework and core courses to help grasp learning concepts to improve their confidence, grades and test scores. We also incorporate fun Fit-sports activities to address the nation's child obesity issue.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Tutors are needed after school from 3:10 pm to 4:30 pm to help underprivileged children with homework and core courses.
Requirements: Volunteers should have education & skills working with children at the Elementary grade level. Orientation, Training and an Application Process needs to be completed.
