Description California Long-Term Care Education Center’s (CLTCEC) mission is to provide educational opportunities to long-term care workers so they can build better lives and provide high quality care to the consumers they serve. CLTCEC serves home care workers providing non-medical, person-centered caregiving services to seniors and people with disabilities through the Medi-Cal funded In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program. We also provide training to nursing home workers, including Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). As the largest provider of training to long-term care workers in California, over the last six years CLTCEC has trained over 10,000 long-term care workers and the seniors and persons with disabilities they serve. The majority of this training was funded through a three-year, $11.8 million Health Care Innovation Award from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation Center for a pilot project called Care Team Integration of the Home-Based Workforce.
Position: Naming and Branding Consultant. Over the past several years our organization has steadily grown and in August 2018 established our first communications department, staffed at 1.2 FTE. We are in the process of developing strategic communications plans for each department. The primary challenge we are seeking assistance with is naming and branding. Our name is long and the acronym is difficult to pronounce. We need to change our name to something that better meets our needs. Also the names of our trainings were created for an audience of funders, so the students who attend our trainings don’t remember the name of the class. Our target markets for communication are narrow, and in the case of the home care and nursing home workers we serve, multi-cultural and multi-lingual, with widely varying levels of education and socio-economic experience. Our organization and program names need to translate into six languages – Spanish, Armenian, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Korean. Note we have our class instructors, graduates, and other staff that speak all six languages available to participate in the project.
Responsibilities: Assess our branding needs Lead develop of a process for picking a new name for our organization and a family of brand names for our programs Lead focus groups and or brainstorming sessions with staff, students Board members to ideate possible new names
Qualifications: High level branding experience Experience in naming organizations, products, and or programs Understanding of multicultural audiences
Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week for two months during regular business hours. Flexible with your schedule.
