The mission of Friends of the Family is to foster strong families, resilient and joyful children, and vibrant communities by providing respectful, responsive family support programs in the greater Los Angeles area.
Program Description: To ensure a safe environment for children as they move from custody of one parent to the other without a threat of conflict or violence. Help to ensure a friendly nurturing environment for children as they are transferred back and forth between custodial and non-custodial parents who have not yet established a good working parental relationship. Help the children to avoid experiencing bitter stressful interchanges between their parents as they share custody. Most exchanges take place in the evenings or on weekends at the West Valley Police station and Mission Hills police station.
