Quick Overview: Volunteer to empower high school seniors with the tools they need for economic succes! JA Personal Finance focuses on earning money, saving & investing money, using credit cautiously, and protecting one's personal finances through our one-of-a-kind JA blended learning using technology and traditional methods.
We are looking for 3 volunteers to teach 3-weekly lesson in February (start date flexible) during the times below:
Tuesdays 8:45 am - 9:45 am
Wednesdays 8:45 am - 9:45 am
Wednesdays 10:45 am - 11:45 am
- Training & teaching materials provided
- Teacher support provided in managing classroom
Mission or Broader Program Description: JA SoCal is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating students about financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship. We offer curriculum for grades K – 12, which aligns with Common Core Standards for Math, English and Language Arts. JA curriculum is delivered by volunteers or parents. JA volunteers are not only trained and prepared to teach the JA curriculum to students, but they are also encouraged to share their life and work experience with the students to bring the curriculum to life.
Impact: Every year, we prepare and inspire over 75,000 students to succeed in the global economy.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Teach 3 weekly lessons using our JA Personal Finance Blended Learning Kit.
Requirements: Must attend one-hour training prior to start date where you will also recieve materials to teach the class.
