L.A. Works Day Pop-Up 2019: Exploring Income Inequality

Location: Culver City CA, 90230

Date: 6/15/2019 Spots Remaining: 173

Description

Overview: L.A. Works connects diverse communities to create a just, equitable, and vibrant LA using service as a tool for transformation. At our Pop-Up Day of Service event, held for the first time in Culver City, more than 600 community and corporate volunteers will join together to address critical issues contributing to income inequality.

Program Description: This is a fun, family-friendly event in Culver City that includes a kick-off ceremony with influencers and elected officials, music, food, and a festive volunteer fair.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Volunteers will be exploring income inequality through a diverse array of volunteer projects and activities.

Requirements: Casual attire and sneakers (sturdy closed-toe shoes). Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Wear sunscreen, a hat, and bring your own eco-friendly water bottle if you have one.

Lunch is generously provided by the Jonathan Club. Coffee and light pastries will also be available in the morning during the kick-off.

Volunteers under the age of 14 must have a parent/guardian with them. Volunteers under the age of 14 cannot create L.A. Works Accounts so parents/guardians must create a Team to sign up their family.

Time commitment: In order to participate in the event, volunteers must arrive at 8:30 AM. The event ends at 1:30 PM.

Sponsors: Companies bring out their employees to volunteer together to boost morale and give back to their local community. Join our growing list of sponsors by emailing kim@laworks.com.

L.A. Works firmly believes that we strengthen the social fabric of our community by involving all in service. If you feel you need accommodations to participate in this project please email us at info@laworks.com.
