Outdoor Volunteer Day: Alta Vicente Reserve

Location: Rancho Palos Verdes CA, 90275

Date: 11/30/2019 Spots Remaining: 40

The mission of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) is to "Preserve land and restore habitat for the education and enjoyment of all."
Overview: Volunteers will help remove invasive weeds to allow for restored vegetation to establish and provide habitat for rare wildlife species.
Organization: Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, www.pvplc.org
Program Description: Please join us for our Outdoor Volunteer Day from 9am to 12pm at Alta Vicente Reserve! We will be working to remove invasive weeds which degrade important wildlife habitat and will be replacing them with native, drought tolerant plants!

Please meet us at the Alta Vicente trailhead next to St Paul's Lutheran Church at 31290 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Please do not park in the church parking lot. Park on the street. Extra parking can be found in Golden Cove Shopping Center.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: We will be working outdoors, so please wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection and be sure to bring drinking water and a snack. A reusable water bottle is recommended. Large groups (of 10 or more) are welcome with 48 hours notice.
Time Commitment: 9:00am-12:00pm
Requirements: Please wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection and be sure to bring drinking water and a snack. A reusable water bottle is recommended.

 * Volunteers under the age of 18 will need to bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors. The form can be found on L.A. Works website Q&A section.
Impact: With over 80% of coastal sage scrub habitat degraded or destroyed, community-based habitat restoration is essential in assisting ecosystem recovery and providing a home for local wildlife.
Thank you for volunteering to conserve the Palos Verdes Peninsula!
