Mission or Broader Program Description: The Conservancy preserves undeveloped land as open space for historical, educational, ecological, recreational and scenic purposes. Since its founding in 1988, the Conservancy has successfully preserved 1,600 acres of open space on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The Conservancy's vision is the creation and management of large blocks of natural open space where visitors may enjoy peaceful solitude, where children and adults can learn about the natural environment, and where native plants and animals can thrive. Free guided Nature Walks are open to the community every second Saturday of the month from 9 AM to 11 AM.
Impact: The Nature Walks are a wonderful introduction for the community to the Preserves. Giving people a chance to learn about the natural history of the Preserve and how they can get involved!
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Volunteers lead the Family Nature Walk events around hiking trails at our nature centers and Preserves every second Saturday from 9 AM to 11 AM every month. Please sign up by visiting: www.pvplc.volunteerhub.com
