Quick Overview: Volunteers will be working inside the classroom for 40 minutes on following topics (depending on which day they come in): budgeting, banking, loans, insurance, investing, credit, credit cards, jobs, taxes, home ownership, etc.
Mission or Broader Program Description: At Building Blocks for Kids we empower low income students ages of 9-18, by providing a progressive financial literacy/career-based education curriculum and mentorship program that gives them the tools to maximize financial independence and social mobility as adults.
Impact: Helping low-income students understand/make better financial decisions in adulthood. Each student receives at least $100 for college or retirement upon completion per semester.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Working with students in a group setting, answering questions and facilitating daily curriculum with guest speaker or with the teacher
Requirements: Must be 18 years or older, must understand the topic of discussion.
Classroom Hours (changes per week): 11:36am-12:16pm or 1:01pm-1:41pm
