Help serve meals with PATH!
Quick Overview: Support kitchen staff at our Metro LA interim housing site in K-town (340 N Madison Ave). This interim site serves over 98 men and women in a transitional housing setting. This is a low barrier short term shelter (typically 30-90 days) where clients can have the comforts necessary in order to engage with critical social services.
Organization Name and Website: PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) at epath.org
Mission: Our mission is to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. PATH envisions a world where every person has a home. Our values include creative collaborations, strategic leadership, empowerment for all, and passionate commitment.
Impact: Everyday, our kitchen staff receive and sort donations from our partner, Trader Joe's. Staff need support during the week to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for clients. You would get the opportunity to serve a warm meal to our clients, as well as engage them in meaningful conversation and company.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Volunteers work under the supervision of kitchen staff. Our highest need shift is between 10am-2pm, which allows the volunteer to support in unpacking and sorting food donations as well as prepare lunch.
Requirements: Volunteers must be 18+ with a completed and signed Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors. The form can be found on L.A. Works website Q&A section. Attending a Volunteer Orientation is recommended.
