Quick Overview: Tutors are needed to help underprivileged children in 3rd-5th grade improve reading level, math skills and build confidence to learn and develop academically.
Mission or Broader Program Description: Joseph Learning Lab is an educational outreach nonprofit organization. We are on a mission to close the learning gap, reduce the dropout rate, and develop students of all ages and diverse backgrounds by allowing them an equal opportunity for learning and personal growth. We tutor and mentor underprivileged children, who are being left behind the learning curve.
Impact: Volunteers will help students in elementary school with homework and core courses so they can grasp learning concepts to improve their confidence, grades and test scores. Also when time permits, they will incorporate fun fit-sports activities to address the nation's child obesity issue.
Time Commitment: Wednesdays 3:00 pm-4:30pm or Thursdays 3:00 - 5:00 pm
