Join us for our 10th Annual Laps4Literacy event!Laps4Literacy is a time for families to learn through play with their children. A fun event for children, parents and the community, Laps4Literacy provides hands-on activities for children of every age. Laps4Literacy is an example of the way in which the child development community continues to come together to educate and inform parents, at no cost to them, about the importance of early childhood education. This exciting event draws approximately 5,000 attendees each year.
Child Care Resource Center's mission is to cultivate child family, and community well-being.
This event brings over 5,000 children and families together from the community. the impact is huge because it gices families a fun and free activity to do with their children that is entertaining and enriching!
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:
Opportunities include but are not limited to:
- Set-up/Breakdown of tents, chairs, and booths
- Face Painting
- Hair Painting
- Book tent/Distribution
- Fruits and vegetable tent/Distribution
- Water and First Aid tent
- Costume context
- Fun Walk/Run coordination
Requirements: Volunteers must be 16 years or older (waiver required upon check in). * Volunteers under the age of 18 will need to bring and have signed by a parent/guardian a Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors. The form can be found on L.A. Works website Q&A section.
