Hands-On Help Needed to Enroll West Hollywood Residents Into CalFresh
Quick Overview: We at Jewish family Services are recruiting volunteers to help enroll people into CalFresh, California's food stamp program. This is a hands-on volunteer opportunity. Volunteers will meet with individuals to answer questions about CalFresh and help people to enroll in the program.
Mission or Broader Program Description: Make a true change in someone's life and join the fight to reduce food insecurity among our neighbors! All volunteers will receive training on CalFresh and every aspect related to the CalFresh program. Volunteers will also receive on-going support from Jewish Family Services staff.
Impact: Your volunteer efforts contribute to the health and overall well being of West Hollywood residents. The more people we sign up for CalFresh, the more we will reduce food insecurity.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Volunteers will help enroll individual's into CalFresh or help answer questions about CalFresh. Volunteers are asked to sign up for one shift per week, and each shift lasts about 3 hours. We offer multiple volunteer shifts throughout the week, so volunteers can help on a day that works best for them. This volunteer opportunity takes place in West Hollywood. We ask volunteers to make a 6 month volunteer commitment to the program.
Requirements: 18 years or older.
