Help Impact the Lives of At-Risk Youth in the Los Angeles Area!

Location: CA, 90019

Date: 11/11/2019 Spots Remaining: 9

Description

Be a positive role model, do fun activities, and guide middle school students in the LA area!

Mission: Our mission at Los Angeles Team Mentoring is to guide middle school students growing up in challenging urban environments to recognize and reach their full potential. Our unique team-based mentoring model gives you the chance to impact the lives of 10-12 students with the support of 2 other adult mentors. In addition, you will have the opportunity to build your resume and network with professionals from a variety of fields. LATM will happily write you a letter of recommendation upon request. LATM provides an innovative curriculum that explores Team-Building and Leadership Development, Self-Esteem, Conflict Resolution and more. As a mentor you will also be able to inspire students to aspire to pursue higher education, and participate in our fun college field trips!

Impact: Despite not being a tutoring program, our mentored youth are more likely to graduate from high school, more likely to go to college, and recieve higher grades compared to non-mentored youth. Two hours of your time can make all the difference!

Details: One day a week after-school mentoring sessions from September 2019 -May 2020 from approximately 3-5 p.m. and 2 Saturday field trips.
