⚙︎LEADER OPPORTUNITY: Help Youth Enhance their Career Readiness Skills
What: Support employment readiness and life skills virtual workshops. You will support the programming content and faciliation for RSVP volunteers age 55+ as they work youth in need.
The Project You Will Lead: This project is part of RSVP at L.A. Works' Adult Education and Employment initiative. We are organizing a series of workshops with various nonprofit partners like Covenant House, CLARE Rehabilitation Center, Journey Out, College Track & more, to support their development in skills that will help them be career ready. Topics include interview skills, resume and cover letter writing, financial literacy and more.
What is programming content? Anything from presentations, guidebooks, resource handouts and activities.
- Create virtual content based on research and experience
- Update in-person workshop content to meet the needs of a virtual environment
- Bi-weekly check in with Program Associate
- Optional: Facilitate content at scheduled workshops *training available*
Passion for community service
Excellent phone and written communications etiquette
Proactive, self-directed, and results-oriented personality with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Good organizational skills, attention to details and deadlines
Enthusiastic and eager to contribute
Have a laptop/computer and online internet connection
Familiarity with Google applications (Google Doc, Google PowerPoint etc.)
Familiarity and account with Zoom
PLUS: Bilingual, creatively familiar with design and marketing
