Spanish/English Translator

Location: Los Angeles CA, 90057

Date: 2/11/2020 Spots Remaining: 2000

Quick Overview:  Translate (Spanish/English) for Heart of LA's Music Department parents!

Organization + Website: Heart of LA (HOLA) https://www.heartofla.org/

Mission: HOLA provides underserved youth with free, exceptional programs in academics, arts and athletics within a nurturing environment, empowering them to develop their potential, pursue their education and strengthen their communities.

Impact:   Many parents in our Music program are Spanish-speaking only, and are unable to effectively communicate with some of HOLA's teachers and Program staff.  Translators are able to bridge the gap, helping parents and teachers to be on the same page so that they are better able to work together in supporting students.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Translators should feel comfortable communicating with HOLA Staff and parents, in person and on the phone, in both Spanish and English.

Requirements: Volunteers must be 16 or older, speak fluent Spanish and English, and complete HOLA's volunteer onboarding process which includes an application, Volunteer Orientation, background check, and meeting with the music department staff.
