Virtual Volunteer: Make Face Coverings to fight COVID-19
Quick Overview: Want to volunteer from home in your PJs? Great, we need you! A majority of our residents have compromised immune systems, so we need to supply our residents and frontline staff with face coverings to slow the spread of COVID-19 and any other illnesses. We're trying to collect 2 for each employee and 2 for each resident, for a total of 3,760 masks to help keep everyone safe.
Mission: The Skid Row Housing Trust (the Trust) provides permanent supportive housing so that people who have experienced homelessness, prolonged extreme poverty, poor health, disabilities, mental illness and/or addiction can lead safe, stable lives in wellness. Impact: A majority of our residents have compromised immune systems, so in supplying our residents and frontline staff with face coverings, you will be slowing the spread of illnesses and making a huge impact on the lives of residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:
- We are utilizing the CDC guidelines for face coverings (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html)
- Must be able to sew. We are accepting face coverings made from new materials, too.
Once you click ‘Express Interest’, a member of our staff will reach out to you to go over the details of how many you can make and how to safely connect for pick-up, drop-off, or shipment.
