L.A. Works

Quick Overview: At St. James Episcopal Church, assist our unsheltered population in Mid-City with accessing mobile shower stations provided by Shower of Hope, grab & go meals, and donated clothing

Impact: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are seeking sanitation, meals, and clothing. Your efforts will help provide them with these necessities.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities:

As an overview:

- Preparing the parking lot as a safe "waiting area" for the showers: Setting up chairs, sanitizing/wiping them down, picking up trash, cleaning the area

- Hallway attendant/monitors bathrooms: Make sure that the area will be secure, safe from congregating.

- Hand out ready-made meals

- Select and distribute clothing from the Clothing Shed in the parking lot

- At the End/Breakdown: collect chairs and return to inside.  Wash utensils used for food distribution. Wipe down the surfaces.  Take trash to dumpster.

Requirements: Volunteers will social distance by keeping 6ft from each other, wear mask covering nose and mouth at all times.  Personal protective equipment, sanitation, and sanitizing materials are provided.

Parking: Street parking is available on St. Andrews and neighboring streets..
