Virtual - Education and Nature Center Docent Orientation
Quick Overview: Virtual Docent Orientation - Do you enjoy our local nature and want to share it with others? Become a Nature Center and Education Docent! From assisting with plant sales to mentoring scout badges to guiding field trips, there is so much to choose from! You can even help host virtual nature themed events! Impact: Our Education program works with over 25 local schools and over 10,000 members of the public each year to provide environmental education and outdoor recreation opportunites to our community. We work to protect over 1,600 acres of land for the public to enjoy and or nature to thrive.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: From assisting with plant sales to mentoring scout badges to guiding field trips, there is so much to choose from! You can even help host virtual nature themed events! Choose the area of focus and work schedule that interests you!
Become a Nature Center Education Docent! Our two Nature Centers, White Point in San Pedro and George F Canyon in Rolling Hills Estates, are the hub for visitors to learn more about efforts by the Land Conservancy, local ecology, geology and cultural history! We also host educational programs for over 30 local elementary schools! Join us for a fun orientation to learn more about the programs we offer and how you can help educate youth! No skills or experience required. An interest in learning more about the Peninsula's local natural and cultural history and geology a plus! Must be 18 years or older. After completing Nature Center training, Docent receives personalized PVP Land Conservancy name badge and polo shirt! Thank you for joining us! Next Training: Saturday March 20th, 9am - 11am via Zoom.
Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 or older.
