L.A. Works 9/11 Day of Service 2013
On September 11th, L.A. Works will help to honor the lives of those who perished in the attack against our country in 2001 with a volunteer project at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center. This site is home to the LAFD Leadership Academy and hosts a piece of the World Trade Center South Tower that is a monument tribute to the 343 New York firefighters who perished on September 11, 2001.
Volunteers will be cleaning, landscaping, planting, and beautifying the memorial site and surrounding grounds. At 10:00am the site hosts the annual commemorative event for the region for police, fire, and military personnel. Elected officials are often in attendance as well. Volunteers are invited to attend this commemorative event after their project concludes.
Volunteer Project Time: 7:00am - 10:00am
Commemorative Event: 10:00am - 11:00am
