P.S. ARTS is dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing high-quality arts education to California’s underserved public schools & communities

Program Description: P.S. ARTS is dedicated to providing arts education for all ages and are looking for retired adults to join in this effort. These members would volunteer in LA School classrooms, Family Art Nights in LA schools, help at P.S. ARTS community events, and partake in exclusive arts education opportunities to further their own interest and knowledge of the arts. 

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: Volunteers can choose from a wide variety of opportunities to partake in, including: help set up, run, and clean up Family Art Nights; serve as an in-class volunteer for a school classroom; volunteer at school performances and art showcases; assist in supply prepping; and help lead projects for community events. No previous experience with art required.

Time Commitment: Must attend either three events a year- these events are in the evening (total of 9 hours) or be an in-school volunteer anytime M-F during the school day (1 hour a week for 10 weeks)

Requirements: Volunteers need to attend an orientation. If you are serving in a school you must have a background check and a TB test (paid for by P.S. ARTS). Dress code must be school and child appropriate (i.e. modest and no vulgar or controversial writing on clothing)

Benefits: Volunteers will be invited to attend exclusive arts education opportunities such as trips to museums, talks held by guest artists, and art night mixers.

This volunteer opportunity will service in and around the greater Los Angeles area.
