Athlete's & Entertainers for Kids

Athletes and Entertainers for Kids (AEFK) is a national non-profit youth educational mentoring organization which brings corporate America together with athletes and entertainers to help disadvantaged youth who lack positive role models and guidance. Founded in 1986 by Elise Kim (AEFK CEO) and Howie Long (AEFK Chairman Emeritus), AEFK set out to influence and inspire often forgotten children who are in great need of guidance and affection. Through creative and pioneering mentor activities, AEFK has created relationships between corporate America, celebrities, and community based organizations in order to encourage youth to remain in school, graduate, and seek various educational opportunities. For over twenty years, AEFK has influenced over 500,000 of young kids among the ages of three and nineteen with understanding and inspirational celebrity representatives such as basketball player Shaquille O’Neal and former supermodel Kathy Ireland. Because of the heavy impact an individual can have on the development of a community, AEFK is determined to not only prove to children of disenfranchised communities that there is hope, but to encourage them to uplift themselves and in turn uplift their community.
