Organization Profile

Adopt Me Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, foster-based dog rescue organization serving the Los Angeles Metro area. We are a completely volunteer staffed group. We are dedicated to rescuing small dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation. We are also dedicated to both saving and reducing the Chihuahua over-population through rescuing, education and getting all dogs outside homes spayed or neutered, while always maintaining a no-kill environment. We place dogs in loving, committed homes permanently (we have a very low return rate), following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking care in finding good matches and educating adopters about the responsibilities & costs of bringing a new life into their home. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. While we concentrate on small dogs, we assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. Every cent we receive goes directly to the dogs…we have no staff or facility. We also work directly with shelters, the ASPCA and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters that create a better system, and life, for these homeless pets.
