Senior Wellness Volunteer Leader
Quick Overview: Plan and lead activities for seniors in low-income housing to engage socially, practice fine-motor skills, utilize critical-thinking and showcase their creativity in a supportive group setting. Activities can include music, arts & crafts, tai chi, storytelling, gardening and more!
Mission or Broader Program Description: The Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive array of social welfare and community development services to assist low income individuals and other persons in need, and to contribute to community revitalization and cultural preservation in Little Tokyo.
Impact: Seniors are especially vulnerable to social isolation and neglect from loss of family, health concerns, language barriers, and limited income. Many seniors we serve depend on surviving family members and other caregivers for their mental and physical wellness. Your efforts will engage our senior residents in meaningful conversations and allow them to practice their fine motor skills and creative thinking.

As a volunteer with the Senior Club you will be coordinating with our staff to plan activities and facilitate club meetings once a month that promote mental health and wellness for our senior residents.
Activities can include: storytelling, guided exercises, arts & crafts projects, music, cooking, gardening, board games, field trips and more!
