Pro Bono Financial Strategist with the Foundation for Senior Services (Ages 55+)
Quick Overview: Use your expertise to develop a financial strategy for an older adult advocacy agency! Organization Name: Foundation for Senior Services Organization Website: https://foundationforseniorservices.org/ Mission and Program Description: Provide older adults and their families with education, valuable resources and quality services to help seniors preserve their independence and improve their overall well-being. Help seniors to live safely and well cared for with dignity, without consideration of social and cultural differences, and advocate for those in need. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: We are looking for an experienced financial planning volunteer who can help the Foundation construct an interactive financial model. This is not a brainstorming role; we need a strategist that understands funding for senior services and can create a $100,000 fundraising plan. The strategist will meet with the Executive Director to: • Assess current financial recording keeping systems/practices • Evaluate the organization’s current revenue streams and how best to diversify them • Carve out an actionable fundraising strategy • Build sponsorships and partnerships. Requirements: Volunteers can work remotely and will receive support from L.A. Works Pro Bono Coordinator. • Experience in financial planning • Proven record with developing and implementing a financial plan • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities • Proficient in writing, communications or relevant field a plus The time commitment is flexible, minimum of 3 months with approximately 8-10 hours per month (more if available), remote volunteer role, volunteers may need to be mindful of deadlines.

Pro Bono Executive Assistant with Foundation for Senior Services (Ages 55+)
Quick Overview: If you have expertise and experience in working side by side to support senior management and are passionate about helping a nonprofit support seniors in Los Angeles, consider volunteering with The Foundation for Senior Services. Organization Name: Foundation for Senior Services Organization Website: https://foundationforseniorservices.org/ Mission and Program Description: Provide older adults and their families with education, valuable resources and quality services to help seniors preserve their independence and improve their overall well-being. Help seniors to live safely and well cared for with dignity, without consideration of social and cultural differences, and advocate for those in need. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: We are looking for an executive assistant volunteer who can help the Foundation run their call center and provide other administrative functions. We need an assistant that is compassionate and interested in developing an efficient volunteer training process. The assistant will work with the Executive Director and leadership to: Craft the intake call volunteer description, Run the call center by developing a process for training volunteers, receiving calls, recording calls into their website system and tracking performance, Intake calls, Help with other administrative duties as needed. Requirements: Volunteers can work remotely and will receive support from L.A. Works Pro Bono Coordinator. A compassionate and welcoming personality, and interest in developing a distinguished call center and outreach for seniors, Strong organizational, customer service and computer office skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, use of Social Media), Experience training and managing volunteers a plus but not required. NonProfit Fundraising Manager
Quick Overview: As a nonprofit, Los Angeles-based Senior Care Home Entertainment is less than a year old and is looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager to lead and develop fundraising initiatives. Mission: At Senior Care Home Entertainment, our nonprofit mission is to alleviate depression and loneliness among the residents of senior care and nursing homes by providing premium, live music and entertainment performances at no cost to the care homes. We fundraise to pay the musicians and entertainers. During the pandemic, with our roster of musicians and entertainers, we created the variety-style television series, Entertaining Older Folks, to reach those isolated residents of senior care and nursing homes. Impact: As a young nonprofit, we need to get our fundrasing in order and get some traction financially to survive and fulfill our mission. Currently our fundraising efforts include a crowdfunding campaign on Fundly along with donation portals on our website. We recently became a Google Ad Grantee, accessing $10,000/month of advertising on Google and have begun to build our campaign. We have other plans for 2021 including a virtual fundraiser in the summer with (hopefully) sponsorships and a virtual auction as well as plans for grant writing and seeking out philanthropic alliances in the entertainment community in Los Angeles and beyond. Telephone Outreach Volunteer
Quick Overview: Senior Care Home Entertainment is seeking volunteers for Telephone Outreach to senior care and nursing facilities. Mission: At Senior Care Home Entertainment, our nonprofit mission is to alleviate depression and loneliness among the residents of senior care and nursing homes by providing premium, live music and entertainment performances at no cost to the care homes. Impact: During the pandemic, with our roster of musicians and entertainers, we created the variety-style television series, Entertaining Older Folks, created specifically for the residents of senior care and nursing homes and available on local Los Angeles cable and YouTube. Volunteer Roles & Responsiblities: Get the word out to senior care and nursing home staffs and administrators by calling to let them know about our cost-free and commercial-free television series so they can share with their residents. This would require no more than three hours a week calling senior care and nursing homes to make the staff and administration aware of our series. Brief training session on our database before work begins. Social Media Manager
Quick Overview: Our nonprofit, Senior Care Home Entertainment, is seeking a volunteer Social Media Manager. As a non-profit serving the senior care and nursing home community, we need someone with social media marketing expertise to advise/consult/manage our social media platforms. Mission: The mission of Senior Care Home Entertainment is to alleviate depression and loneliness among the residents of senior care and nursing homes by providing premium, live music and entertainment performances at no cost to the care homes. The current health crisis prevents us from sending our musicians and entertainers into senior care and nursing homes so to continue to serve our non-profit mission, we have created a television series specifically for those isolated residents. The series, Entertaining Older Folks, is a weekly, one-hour, variety-style program with music, comedy, magic, poetry and so much more! It streams on YouTube on the Senior Care Home Entertainment Channel. It is available 24 hours a day on televisions, tablets, computers and phones. Through social media we are aiming to create awareness for our nonprofit, our television series as well as our fundraising. Impact: Social media posts on FB, IG, TW and LinkedIn have been increasing traffic and getting us increased views on our YouTube channel. We aim to continue and build upon this early progress. Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: Create and schedule weekly posts and follow up on platforms to further engage people to discover us. We expect the Social Media Manager to spend around 2 - 3 hours a week creating/scheduling posts and following up on social media.
