Host an AmeriCorps VISTA member
We are an AmeriCorps grantee and receive funds as part of their State and National program. Volunteer Corps is L.A. Works' AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) program dedicated to ending poverty by building the capacity of nonprofit organizations and public agencies. This focus on capacity building aims to more effectively generate the commitment of private sector resources, encourage volunteer service at the local level, and empower individuals and communities. As a Volunteer Corps host site, your organization will gain a full-time VISTA member.
Host Sites help to underwrite the member’s stipend; however, L.A. Works is able to subsidize the rates so that host sites are only responsible for the following fees:
For organizations with budgets less than $1.5M: | For organizations with budgets more than $1.5M: |
|
|
The fee structure does not include the $3,000 non-refundable registration fee due at the time of signing the MOA.
L.A. Works is currently recruiting host sites for the August 2022 cohort!
Each partner is working on alleviating poverty with programs and services focused on capacity building toward outcomes in education, economic opportunity, and healthy futures.
