Raise Your Voice and Vote Campaign
Every day L.A. Works volunteers make a difference by supporting nonprofits who address critical issues to create a resilient, healthy community. One of the simplest and most profound ways to magnify your impact and effect change in your community is through the act of voting.
November 6, 2018 is California’s statewide general election. Californians will have an opportunity to elect their U.S. Senator, U.S. Representatives, the Governor, Lt. Governor, and other significant public positions. Also on the ballot are important local issues ranging from homelessness, property taxes, affordable housing, and rent control.
The purpose of the RAISE YOUR VOICE AND VOTE Campaign is to mobilize and empower our volunteers to vote in this upcoming midterm elections. California volunteers already contribute $24.7 billion in unpaid labor each year, the equivalent of 450,000 full-time jobs. Imagine the impact if all the volunteers also voted!
This year’s Voter Registration Deadline is Monday, October 22, 2018. SEE IF YOU ARE REGISTERED TO VOTE and if so, in what county. If you have not yet registered, you can QUICKLY AND EASILY REGISTER TO VOTE ONLINE on the CA Secretary of State website.
Take the L.A. Works #VOLUNTEERSVOTE Pledge and share with your fellow volunteers, friends and family that you pledge to cast your vote this November.
