Alysa McDaniel

Hello, my name is Alysa McDaniel and I'm a Los Angeles native currently in my second year of service as an Assessment Coordinator for School on Wheels, a nonprofit that serves children and families experiencing homelessness. I've worked in education since 2013, and I'm currently pursuing a Master's Degree in teaching. I'm very excited to be in the service of students and families. I currently have three children of my own, so my work with young minds is endless!

Indigo Melendez

Indigo Melendez is a dedicated advocate for holistic medicine and a compassionate AmeriCorps volunteer. With a rich educational background in holistic care and Public Health, Indigo has embarked on a mission to bring the benefits of her experience and perspective to underserved communities.

Ciara Kelly, she/her/hers, I am originally from New Jersey, but I just graduated from Loyola University Maryland, where I got a degree in Political Science and minored in Writing. Post-grad, I am working as an AmeriCorps Vista for Reading to Kids, where I am happy to explore all that Los Angeles has to offer.

Clarke Hallum

Hi! My name is Clarke Hallum, I'm from Olympia, WA but currently living in Los Angeles. I am grateful to be serving with PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) LA as a Community Affairs Associate. In my role, I am focused on expanding services and building capacity for PATH's volunteer and in-kind donations programs. So far, I have learned a great amount and been inspired by the work my host site is doing. I am happy to be serving as a VISTA in the 2023-24 year of service!

Jasmine Jackson

My name is Jasmine Jackson, and I work for Central Lutheran Van Nuys as the Food Insecurity and Volunteer Coordinator VISTA. At Central, I take the initiative to ensure that individuals in our community who need access to food are taken care of.

Graysen Yocom

Graysen was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelors in History in 2022. His interests in non-profit work and disaster relief education led him to take on the role of Americorps Vista in conjunction with L.A Works. Outside of work, he enjoys writing novels, playing sports like basketball and tennis, and exploring Los Angeles with his friends and family.

Jocelyne Flores

Jocelyne Flores a non-binary, queer creative/writer who was born and raised in East Los Angeles. They have done a variety of projects such as mental health conversations with young women in their community to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in their city. They are enrolled at Los Angeles Pacific University in hopes of earning their BA in Liberal Arts with a focus on education. Their goal for Mujeres De La Tierra is to continue advocating for the communities that they have been a part of and further educating themselves on community organizing.

Klara Hernandez

My name is Klara Hernandez and I was born and raised in LA graduating as an Environmental Studies major from CalPoly Humboldt. I've managed to start my own grassroots organization back in 2018 to help the community in various ways as much as possible and now Im beyond gratedul for the opportunity with AmeriCorps to gain the experience I need.
