Welcome to the 2026 MLK Day Volunteer Festival

Dr. Martin Luther King during his speech at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, 1964.
Dear MLK Day Volunteer,

Today, we gather to live Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy through service and community. One year after devastating fires and amid ongoing challenges across Los Angeles, your choice to show up today matters. Change doesn’t happen all at once. It grows when people care for one another, again and again.
As we celebrate L.A. Works’ 35th year, thank you for being part of this day and this movement toward a more connected and hopeful Los Angeles.

Most sincerely,

Find the FAVE Zone
F.A.V.E. stands for Families Active in Volunteer Enrichment!

This is a monthly program designed for all families. If you have younger children or even high school students in your household, the monthly FAVE volunteer projects can be done in-person or at home. We always have ways to engage the whole family, even our youngest volunteers, while still making the volunteer experience meaningful for older children, teenagers, and adults.

Blood Drive
Give the gift of live. Visit the on-site blood drive at the Health Equity Zone for a simple way to make a powerful impact in minutes.

Reflections and Thoughts on the Day
Please consider taking a few minutes to reflect on your experience helps us learn, grow, and create even more meaningful opportunities for service in the future. Your honest feedback truly matters.
As a thank-you, everyone who completes this reflection will be entered into a drawing to receive one of several $25 Trader Joe’s gift cards.
Thank you!
