Project Leader Trainings
PROJECT LEADER LEVEL 1
Welcome! Thank you so much for stepping up to lead a volunteer project! This and subsequent training modules will set you up for success during 1- Day volunteer events and L.A. Works Days of Service. After completing just the first training level, you will be able to sign up for project leader (PL) opportunities, where you will serve as a crucial part of the L.A. Works volunteer force! Joining the team of PLs at L.A. Works will position you to inspire volunteers to serve in our local communities. In order to sign up as a project leader for any events, this training level must be completed.
PROJECT LEADER LEVEL 2
You have made it to Project Leader Training Level 2! This training module is designed for any project leader opportunity in which the organizing nonprofit is requesting a background check due to the people they serve (children, seniors, etc.). This is an important step in your Project Leader Training to become a reliable and safe leader at events you lead. Please note that this training module will require you to complete a background check. Next steps for acquiring this background check will be listed inside the training module below.
PROJECT LEADER LEVEL 3
Congratulations! You have reached Level 3 in your Project Leader training! Level 3 is the last stop before you will be able to go into the world (without L.A. Works staff) and lead other volunteers at events, for example, tabling at farmers' markets, libraries, festivals, and other community events. At Level 3, the goal is to foster and train PLs who go out into the community as Ambassadors for L.A. Works and can accurately share information with the public about what we do, whom we serve, and all the various ways people can get involved. You may also even earn some PL Ambassador swag (*wink wink*). Please note that this training level is only available to project leaders ages 55+.
