Why give?
The most vulnerable community members are often in need of multiple services that are provided by different organizations – for example, food from one, academic support for their children at another, and workforce training at a third. L.A. Works volunteers are right by their side to help break generational cycles of poverty – sorting and distributing food, tutoring youth, and coaching on resume building. L.A. Works’ volunteer power helps ensure that hundreds of nonprofits, schools, and government agencies have the resources and capacity to meet their missions.

All donors will be featured on the L.A. Works Donor Wall as well as the Jumbotron in January at our 2024 MLK Day Volunteer Festival at the LA Coliseum where thousands of volunteers will Take Action to Support our Beloved Community!

The goal of Giving Tuesday is simple – it’s a day where people are encouraged to do good. If you’re able to donate money, that’s great! But there are many other ways to give. Give your Giving Tuesday to the community any and every way you are able: spend time volunteering; take a stand on an issue that matters; help a stranger; have a conversation with someone that has a different perspective than you; or find a way to make someone smile. You’ll be doing a small part in making a big impact.
