Climate Action Team
The Climate Action Team leads hands-on community projects that strengthen Los Angeles’ resilience to climate change.
The team is powered by the California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, Office of the Governor. Every 11 months, a new cohort of Fellows joins the team bringing their expertise, creativity, and commitment to climate- focused volunteer opportunities.

Our Annual
Through partnerships with local nonprofits, schools and community groups, the team develops service events that engage community members across Los Angeles.
The Climate Action Team leads capacity-building volunteer projects in four core issue areas:
-
Urban Greening – planting native species, restoring habitats, and creating more green spaces in neighborhoods across Los Angeles
-
Organic Waste Diversion & Edible Food Recovery – helping reduce waste, rescue food, and connect it to communities in need
-
Wildfire Resilience – supporting brush clearance, invasive species removal, and defensible space creation to protect vulnerable communities
-
Community Engagement & Education – inspiring volunteers and residents with tools, training, and events that empower long-term climate solutions
