MLK JR. DAY OF SERVICE - 2021

On Monday, January 18, 2021, L.A. Works continued our longstanding tradition of organizing Angelenos in service and activism to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This MLK Day of Service, L.A. Works launched a new effort to transform how volunteers engage in the community. On a dynamic online platform developed for knowledge based learning and discussion, volunteers can now meet for their virtual service experience and then explore resources to build their knowledge base, reflect and discuss their service experience, and learn how to advocate for critical legislation and actions that elected officials can take to move the needle on issues of equity, together. Click here to check out the virtual MLK Day sessions and resources.

Activities on the day included:

VIRTUAL MARCH ON

WASHINGTON IN MINECRAFT

VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS

Take a tour through the fully recreated National Mall in Minecraft and interact with civil rights leaders who paved the way and are continuing the fight for Dr. King’s dream of a just and equitable society for all.

Although the large event is over, there are still ways to be a part of this Minecraft March on Washington.
